Photo Tour - Spring Lakes and Waterfalls

One Day Spring Nature Photography Tour
$185.

Rated Easy
12:30 PM - 8:30 PM
Come and enjoy the diversity of spring landscape photography along the beautiful lakes and dramatic waterfalls of the central Adirondacks. In this one day nature photography tour we will travel to several destinations that are all within about a half hour radius of Blue Mountain Lake. The photo locations will include a variety of gentle cascades, waterfalls and spring landscapes.
By mid-May the forest is bursting with the colors of fresh spring greens. Fiddleheads nod in the breeze, and shadbush trees are in bloom along the shorelines. Area destinations may include Buttermilk Falls, Bog River Falls, Death Falls, Lake Durant, Blue Mountain Lake, Eagle Lake, and possibly Raquette Lake. All types of lens equipment could be used from macro / extension tubes to wide angle and telephoto lenses. There will be some black flies, so please bring along insect protection as well as an umbrella and wet weather protection for possible May showers.
This nature photography tour is designed for those who are already comfortable with camera basics such as the relationship between aperture, shutter, and ISO settings. During this 8 hour day we will start out with a very brief introduction / discussion and then will have most all day to play with photo techniques in the field at nearby photo locations. If it looks like good sunset conditions we'll try to find a nice location to do sunset / twilight photos as well. Sunset is about 8:20 PM. Sometimes the best conditions are 20 minutes or so after actual sunset so it could be as late as 8:45 PM before we finish up for the evening.
This nature photography tour is rated EASY - all of the photography will be reasonably close to the road, with minmal walking over rough or rocky terrain, with short hikes up to about one half mile.

A maximum of 6 participants, allows plenty of opportunities for individual interaction throughout the day on the different photo shoots.

The workshop fee includes all instruction and any handouts - but does not include lodging or additional meals. Please bring along whatever you would like for food and drink through the day. We will carpool as needed to photo locations.

We look forward to photographing with you and working with you on this nature photography tour.
Please contact us with any questions!
I am expecting to meet for the tour at a location near the town of Blue Mountain Lake and we can carpool from there. There will be full info in an Email along with all of the tour information.
