I had been up on First Peak in the Tongue Mountain Range to photograph the early light highlighting the fog over Lake George. The air was crisp and clear as the sun came over the ridge behind Black Mountain. After photographing several panoramic views from a ledge on First Peak, I packed up my gear and headed down to Lake George to do some more photography.

I had checked out Mingo Island before as a possibilty for a place to do a 360 panorama, so when I got down to the lake and found there was still some mist hanging over the water, I quickly packed my canoe and paddled over to the island from the state boat launch. The bright sunlight was diffused slightly by the fog, highlighting the fall colors along the shoreline and the beautiful crimson blueberry bushes on the island.
