Panoramic View from the Mount Washington Observatory tower

I'm Sorry, either your browser doesn't support Java or you have that feature currently turned off.

Check out the 'Click and Move' view and the Zoomable View.

I had gone up Mt. Washington several times in the winter of 1998 to take photographs for the pair of panoramic summit posters we were planning to produce. I had made some connections with the observatory staff, and was allowed access to the tower for some photography. I took some other panoramic views, and then decided to shoot this full panorama as well.

While there are quite a few buildings on the summit, the view is still quite magnificent on a clear day. When the light is just right, it reflects off the waters of the Atlantic Ocean to the east, and you can see into Canada, Maine, Vermont, and the Adirondacks of New York.
