I've been working to take some different photos of Lake George, and had been in town just the night before for the Thursday night fireworks and to photograph the view from the Lake George Steamboat Company docks. I had looked at a couple of places to do a panorama of the village at evening with the reflections of the lights in the water. One of the places was from the docks, the other was from the small pier that extends into the lake over at the Million Dollar Beach area. I'd been watching the weather - both on the internet - and out the window at home - and could see there was the potential for a really colorful sunset. So, I packed up the camera gear, and headed on down to Lake George. I arrived with enough time to find a parking place, and head over to the pier to set up just before the sunset colors started lighting up the clouds. I enjoyed sharing the spectacle with a family who was enjoying the sunset while relaxing and doing a bit of fishing from the pier.
