After photographing some of the winter conditions I wanted to from the summit of Cascade, we thought I should do the same in late spring, when the new leaves on the birches still have the bright green colors of fresh leaves. I'd been watching the weather reports daily, and it looked like conditions might materialize for both some evening and some morning photography. I made my decision mid - afternoon to head on up after both a satellite cloud map, and a relative humidty forecasting service showed conditions should be ideal. While the sunset was really nice as the mountains and the passing clouds were highlighted by the bright setting sun, the sunrise was really spectacular. High clouds moving in from the west glowed with the colors of dawn. The light haze in the valleys helped diffuse the sunlight, and give detail to all of the mountains and valleys. This was one of the finest times I've had photographing from a really special place in the Adirondack High Peaks.
