Spring Landscapes in the High Peaks Region

One Day Spring Nature Photography Tour / $185.

Rated Easy / Moderate
1PM - 9PM
By mid May, there are spring flowers and greenery in the lower elevations of the High Peaks region. While showery, misty conditions offer great mood, clearer conditions will make for some dramatic landscapes. All types of lens equipment could be used from macro / extension tubes to wide angle and telephoto. The wider angle the lens the better! Please bring along an umbrella and wet weather protection for possible showers and whatever you prefer for possible black fly protection.
This nature photography tour is designed for those who are already comfortable with camera basics such as the relationship between aperture, shutter, and ISO settings. During this 8 hour day we will start out with a very brief introduction / discussion and then will have most all day to play with photo techniques in the field at nearby photo locations. If it looks like good sunset conditions we'll try to find a nice location to do sunset / twilight photos as well. Sunset is about 8:20 PM. Sometimes the best conditions are 20 minutes or so after actual sunset so it could be as late as 8:45 PM or later before we finish up for the evening.
This nature photography tour is rated EASY / MODERATE - most of the photography will be reasonably close to the road, but if conditions are right we could climb a small mountain like Mt. Jo. These hikes will require walking over moderately rough or rocky terrain, with hikes up to about a mile total length and some pretty steep climibing.

A maximum of 6 participants, allows plenty of opportunities for individual interaction throughout the day on the different photo shoots.

The workshop fee includes all instruction and any handouts - but does not include lodging or additional meals. Please bring along whatever you would like for food and drink through the day. We will carpool as needed to photo locations.

We look forward to photographing with you and working with you on this nature photography tour.
Please contact us with any questions!
We will meet for this tour in the High Peaks area at a location like Chapel Pond, Cascade Lakes, or the Adirondak Loj Rd. These are all in the Lake Placid / Keene Valley region. There will be full info in an Email with all of the tour information.
The dramatic Adirondack High Peaks region near Lake Placid, is full of waterfalls, cascades, and dramatic mountain views. In this one day photo tour we will travel to several destinations that are all within about a half hour radius of the Lake Placid / Keene area. There are numerous options in this region for all types of photography - including wide angle scenics, and macro or telephoto details.
